Welcome! I've been toying with the idea of starting a blog about being green and saving green for ages. Until now it has simply been a collection of thoughts in a notebook, but now that I have an iPhone application coming out that is related to saving people money, I figure my application can "sponsor" GreenPreserver, and allow me to spend a few hours a week keeping the site fresh.
There are a lot of sites out there on the topic of frugality and saving money. I'd like to first make it clear what this site is NOT:
No coupons, promotions or any of that type of nonsense. Buying something you don't normally buy because you save a few pennies is false economy.
What I will be writing about is saving money, and saving the world. There are many ways to optimize your money to help you live a healthier life in a healthier environment. Sometimes the environmental choice is more expensive, but I'm always looking for clever ideas that save resources and save money.
Some topics I plan to cover in the upcoming weeks and months:
* saving green in the bathroom
* rewarding vegetable and container gardening
* process your own food - organic, healthy and inexpensive recipes
* revealing the sneaky tricks of marketing and advertising
